Playing Recently – May 11th, 2015

Hey, long time no see! I’ve been pretty busy lately. Okay, that’s a bit of a lie. I suppose I just have a tough time motivating myself to write here on Word Press, what with school work, work work, video games, and hanging with friends filling up my time. Thankfully, classes are coming to a close, so a little more time will be freed up.

Anyway! Here’s the games I’ve been playing recently.

Predator and Jason

Mortal Kombat X – As per usual, I’ve been playing at least a few rounds each day of this brutal fighter. I have to say, the variation system Netherrealm implemented into this game is a very intelligent idea; it allows for more playstyles in each character, giving the roster some individuality. Lately I’ve been trying to get a hang of Cassie Cage and her Hollywood variation.

MK8 Big Blue

Mario Kart 8 – New downloadable tracks! 200cc! What more could you ask for? Nintendo has made me a very happy Mario Kart player with the newest downloadable offerings. Playing 200cc in online matches with eleven other people is absolutely insane, in the best kind of way. Big Blue, the second F-Zero – inspired track is easily my favorite among the new tracks, and the Animal Crossing course is also very fun, especially due to the seasons changing within the course each time you play it. What a great multiplayer game. Now can we please get a revamped battle mode, one that operates akin to previous Mario Kart games?! If Nintendo does this, I’ll be playing more Mario Kart for many months to come.

Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate – Still plugging away at the Monster Hunter craze, I just hit a little over 60 hours in my one hunter. After discovering the massive damage the hammer can deal, I’ve been using that for the last few hunts. It’s been a very fun time, and it’s amazing to me that I still feel rather new to the game; I know that people have said Monster Hunter games can occupy a solid 150+ hours, but after 60+ I still feel like there is a lot left to explore! It makes me excited for future Monster Hunter titles. Let’s hope they aren’t restricted to handhelds alone! I’d love to see a new MH on a home console, although what are the odds of that happening, considering MH4 on the 3DS’s success? Not too certain. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Thanks for reading, everyone. Hope things are going well with you all. Peace!
